Bharti Airtel to touch children across NE

Bharti Airtel, India’s leading mobile services provider is organising a day long programme on November 14 to mark Children’s Day 2009. On this day Airtel will organise children across the North East Region, in both urban & rural areas, to participate in drawing contests that will showcase their talent. On this Children’s Day Airtel in the North East will reach out simultaneously to all the children across the trouble torn North Eastern Region. On the Spot Drawing Competitions, the theme of environment - “Clean North East, Green North East” are being organized in a three pronged manner simultaneously in all the seven States of the North East. The programmes are aimed at encouraging children of Airtel Employees, Airtel Customers, channel partners & more importantly the less privileged children in our society to take part in the competitions. It may be mentioned that about 2000 under privileged children and children living in far flung areas, living in various shelters and institutions have been encouraged to take part in the Airtel On the Spot Drawing Competition across the Region. In this regard, Sudipto Choudhury, Chief Operating Officer, Bharti Airtel NESA stated that Airtel was happy to involve and encourage children across the North Eastern Region in bringing out their latent talents and also create awareness to the younger generation on preservation of environment.
