Members of the All India Students’ Association, Karbi Anglong Committee today submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, Karbi Anglong demanding immediate halt in the price hike of all essential commodities and educational fee. In the memo, the AISA members viewed that contentious and excessive price trudge of essential items has adversely affected every section of the society, particularly poor villagers, daily wage earners and people belonging to the lower income group. The memo aired the view that students’ are getting victimized from such unprecedented price rise of food and other essential items required in the day to day life of commoners . “Students have to abandon their studies in quest of money to meet the growing menace of price rise, rapid fee hike in many educational institutions have forced even few brilliant students to desert their studies and get entangled with ultra organizations” the memo opined. In their four point charter of demands the AISA leaders have called for 50% concession of fare to every students studying in Karbi Anglong, granting of 3 liters of Kerosene oil per month to every students of this district from this month and immediate halt in the fee hike.
