Nagaland participates in WTM London

Nagaland under the aegis of tourism department attended the 30th edition of the “2009 World Travel Market (WTM)”, the only state from the Northeast to participate in the premier global event for travel industry in London from November 9 to 12. Nagaland had the opportunity to showcase and attract most of the visitors. Over 50000 world tourism professionals from 187 countries took part in this event. The department also displayed and distributed brochures, CDs showcasing the rich Naga cultural heritage and the like to the visitors in Nagaland stall. The state team led by parliamentary secretary tourism Yitachu was accompanied by commissioner and secretary tourism Khekiye Sema and tourist officer V. Doulo. Meanwhile, ‘Incredible India’ campaign received the World Travel Award for the best destination marketing campaign. Tourism Minister Kumari Selja received the award at a glittering event organized in London on November 9. WTM is an annual four-day long world’s largest travel fair, which brings together and presents a diverse range of destinations, hospitality sectors and travel professionals. This year’s event was organised by Reed Exhibitors, one of the world’s leading event management group.
