Kiphire District Congress Committee (KDCC) and ACCC have expressed displeasure over the functioning of the district administration and developmental process in Kiphire. KDCC, ACCC and GBs, VECs and VDB secretaries in its joint meeting held on December 9 at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire, passed eight resolutions appealing for better district maintenance and development in various areas. The members at the joint meeting appealed to deputy inspector of schools, Kiphire to implement mid day meal scheme effectively, distribute LPG gas to all school, release cooks honorarium pay, detach all illegal attached teachers and ministerial staff and to check proxy teachers. According to a press release issued by KDCC, resolutions also included plea to district administration and civil food supply department to make food stock sufficient by early 2010. Reminding state chief minister and minister for roads and bridges on the assurance to award works to first class contractors, KDCC said unskilled worker and grade IV, III and labours should be appointed among the local people.
The meeting further expressed dismay over the functioning of E.E (E) Tuensang and SDO (E) Kiphire with regard to implementation of rural electrification and other centrally sponsored schemes under Kiphire district. KDCC further endorsed the leadership of AICC president and chairperson UPA government Sonia Gandhi at the centre and resolved to rally behind her leadership.
