Minister for Soil & water Conservation, Land Resources Development P.Longon, on Tuesday said teachers played a very important role in promoting better generation of the society and urged teachers of Tuensang district to be more sincere while rendering their services towards humanity.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest at the general session of All Nagaland School Teachers Association Tuensang unit, on the theme ‘teaching is a mission’ Longon highlighted on the responsibility of the teachers and the need for quality teaching in the era of technology and called upon the people to cooperate with each other for the common lucrative of the society. Longon urged teachers to mould up the students in a specific manner so that they become the nation leaders of tomorrow.
Quoting the definition of Mahatma Gandhi the minister said, ‘you practice what you teach and teach what you practice’ as teaching in the classroom had great impact on the students.
Kepelhoutuo Chusi, President ANSTA HQ, SDO Civil Tuensang Hq Sentiwapang Aier, Tohoshe Sumi DEO Tuensang also exhorted the teachers for the positive changes in the society. Earlier, the programme was chaired by N.G. Saha, general secretary ANSTA Tuensang unit, while invocation was lead by the pastor SBC Longkhim Thsadong. The welcome address was delivered by L. Chaba Chang President ANSTA Tuensang unit and vote of thanks was proposed by Thsapongse President Longkhim sub unit and benediction by M. Chuba Chaplin Police Baptist Church Longkhim. The general body congregation programme was also held which was lead by the executive chairman Paiyu.
While the programme was concluded with the unison of ‘God bless my Nagaland’. Around 300 teachers from across Tuensang district registered at the general session.
