Shops in Mkg to light up for festive season
ADC and Administrator, Mokokchung Municipal Council, R. Asenla Keitzar has directed all shop owners and business establishments to illuminate their respective shops with decorative lights for the forthcoming Christmas and New Year. All business establishments have been requested to use only CFL bulbs to conserve power consumption. ADC notified that the order would come into immediate effect and warned that defaulters will be punished.
Kohima Village Youth Organization
DIMAPUR: Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) has notified that ‘Kitsubozou’ falsed under ancestral jurisdiction of the people of Kohima village. A joint press release issued by KVYO president, Petekhriezo Dzuvichu and Kitsubozou Panchayat chairman, Silie Mepfu-o stated that the intervention undertaken by KVYO to stop unauthorized collection of funds from commercial vehicles at Kitsubozou parking was being done in the best interest of the public.
CASWO general meeting
DIMAPUR: Chokri Area Students’ Welfare Organization (CASWO) has convened a general meeting on December 18 at Chokri Baptist School, Chetheba. All executives, unit representatives and former presidents have been requested to attend the meeting. Further, the organization has congratulated Hukupa Thulu-o on winning the recently held Mr. Nagaland 2009 contest and wished him success in future endeavors.

DIMAPUR: Kohima Lotha Students’ Union (KLSU) will hold its first sitting on December 22, 10 am at the residence of its cultural secretary Chandeno Ezung, Orchis Colony. A release issued by KLSU general secretary Elabemo Ezung has asked all executives to attend the meeting.

OCSU 60th annual session
DIMAPUR: Old Changsu Students’ Union (OCSU) has convened its 60th annual session on December 28 and 29 at local ground, Old Changsu village with Ntsen Shitiri, head assistant Irrigation and Flood Control, Kohima as the chief guest and Nrao Humtsoe, head accountant PWD (Housing) as the session speaker. Z. Tsademo Shitiri, president OCSU has requested the bonafide top holders and ‘A’ grade students from Class-X to degree level for the academic year 200-2009 to submit their names enclosed with photo copy of their admit card and mark sheet to the office bearers for the meritorious award. Union has requested all members, those residing outside, officials from different organizations, former president, ERSU unit presidents, teachers, elders and well wishers to attend the session.

DIMAPUR: Chenwetnyu Village Council (CVC) informed that 39th Chen Area Students’ Union (CASU) meeting would be held from January 8 to 14 at Chenwetnyu village with E.E Pangteang Konyak, advisor DUDA as the chief guest and W. Honje Konyak, project director DRDA Mon as the guest of honour. PM. Nockpai Konyak, chairman CVC has requested all the Chenwetnyu village citizens residing in different towns and cities, serving in different departments and institutions to reach village on or before December 22 to prepare for the CASU meet.

DIMAPUR: Thüvopisumi Students Union (TSU) will celebrate its 57th general session cum cultural extravaganza on the theme ‘preserving cultural integrity’on December 17 to 19 with minister for health and family welfare Kuzholuzo Nienu, as chief guest and Pusazo Venyo, Sr. artist-cum-designer, department of school education as the session speaker.

DIMAPUR: Students’ Association of Wakching has informed all members to attend the sessional meeting to be held on December 21. The association also informed that 26th late Hendok Memorial Running trophy would be held from December 26 for which all interested clubs have been informed to register their names for the trophy on the registration forms from the office at Yinghajee. It also informed that the tournament meeting will be held on December 20.
