AASU 9th general conference DIMAPUR: Aghunaqa Area Students’ Union (AASU) has convened its 9th general conference from January 4 to 6 at Vikheto village with Luhevi Achumi, district and session judge, Nagaland as the chief guest. Shikato Yeptho, president and Vipito Chishi, vice president AASU has requested all the units and the villagers of Aghunaqa area to attend the conference. Dimapur Gorkha Union DIMAPUR: Dimapur Gorkha Union (DGU) has convened a general meeting on December 19 at 11am at Medziphema Town Hall. B.B. Pradhan, president DGU has requested all responsible to attend the meeting. Kyong Students’ Union DIMAPUR: Kyong Students’ Union (KSU) will be celebrating its Platinum Jubilee in 2010. In this regard union has informed that it would conduct a commemoration programme from January 4-5 at Okotso village under the banner “Launching cum Memorial Stone Erection Ceremony”. The ceremony would be graced by KSU ex-president (1946), Yanarao Ngullie. Union has requested all its units and former office bearers to attend the programme. Lasumi Students’ Union KOHIMA: The 48th general session of Lasumi Students’ Union will be held on December 22 at Zhikoutsa (GPS) Lasumi. K. Therie will be the chief guest. A new designed shawl of Lasumi will be inaugurated by the chief guest. All officers, former presidents, senior students, public leaders and well wishers have been invited to the session. The union has further informed that all first division holders and above for the academic year 2009 will be awarded. The unit representatives have been informed to submit the name of those students to the union office on or before December 21. URF thanksgiving service DIMAPUR: United Revival Fellowship (URF) outreached mission Goalpara Assam has convened a thanks giving service on December 27 at 9am at SBC Sugar Mill. Tovishe Achumi, vice chairman URF has requested all the sponsors, board members, working member and prayer warriors of URF to attend the service. WVGEU annual conference DIMAPUR: Wokha Village Government Employees’ Union (WVGEU) has convened its 15th annual conference on December 30 at Wokha village playground under the theme, “Be an asset for the society”. Yanrenthung Kikon, president WVGEU has requested all the members who would like to propose an agenda to submit it on December 30 and further requested all the bonafide members and invitees to attend the conference. NCP Shaki village emergency meet DIMAPUR: National Congress Party (NCP), Shaki village unit has convened an emergency meeting on December 20 at 3pm at the residence of its unit president. Supenthung Tsopoe, president NCP Shaki village unit has requested all the members both new and mahilas to attend the meeting. Further, the unit has felicitated Khyolamo Murry, Chichamo Kithan and Tsatheo Tsanglao for being elected as Wokha district NCP working president, chairman kissan cell and media cell respectively under the leadership of Dr. Chumben Murry, minister for Agriculture. NSVCBCC meet DIMAPUR: New Shena Village Church Building Construction Committee (NSVCBCC) has convened a meeting on January 2 at the village. Shito Sema, chairman NSVCBCC has requested all the members to attend the meeting. BRGF Wokha informs DIMAPUR: BRGF Wokha has informed all the VLW to collect their honorarium from their respective Block BDOs and to submit their appointment order and two pass port photographs. This has been informed in a press release issued by Chichamo Kithan, convener BRGF (VLW) Wokha district. HVSU silver jubilee celebration DIMAPUR: The Hovukhu Village Students’ Union (HVSU) would be celebrating its silver jubilee on December 20 from 9 am under the theme, “March forward”. Kughah Achumi, convener jubilee planning board has requested all the bonafide members, citizens of Hovukhu village residing outside the village and all responsible to attend the celebration. PhD in Zoology DIMAPUR: Vice Chancellor of NU has informed that Bhuban Chandra Chutia roll No 195/2005 has provisionally qualified for Ph D in Zoology on the thesis Biodiversity, ecology and conservation strategies of wild silk moths in Nagaland and his Supervisor was Dr LN Kakati. WDTDA annual picnic DIMAPUR: Wokha District Taxi Driver Association (WDTDA) has convened its annual picnic on December 19. Khothungo Lotha, president WDTDA has requested all drivers and owners to attend the picnic. Association also informed that fine of rupees 1000 will be imposed to those taxies found plying on the picnic day. Association has requested all passengers to bear with the inconvenience. Dimapur Pangti Ekhüng DIMAPUR: Dimapur Pangti Ekhüng (DPE) has informed that the annual picnic scheduled on December 19 has been postponed to January 16 owing to the declaration of December 19 as working day by the state government. C.M. Jami, president DPE has informed that the details of the programme and venue of the picnic would be notified at later date.
