Senior BJP leader resigns; set to join NPF

In a big set back to BJP Nagaland Unit, a stalwart of BJP Vikehielie Victor, General Secretary BJP state unit on Friday tendered resignation from the post of state general secretary and active and primary membership of BJP party. It is learned that Vikehielie Victor is all set join Nagaland People’s Front (NPF) along with his supporters. In his resignation letter addressed to BJP President, Nagaland unit, Victor said this was the first political party he joined in January 25, 1996 and worked for it for above one and half decade and served as state secretary as well as general secretary since 1997 till today (December 18,2009). “ I have nurtured and toiled the party with sincerity , dedication and commitment for the welfare and progress and development of the party and state and also voice against discrimination nepotism, castism, favoritism , injustice and especially perpetration against the minorities specially the Christians both within and outside the state in the party forums and even in the media and stand commitment till the last day in the BJP” , he stated but regretted that “today the party with difference as it is referred as to has no proper vision but with confusion, dilution , division and directionless”. Victor also said that he resigned on this day with his followers en-masse with members of the 8th Western Angami Assembly constituency. Meanwhile the resigned BJP leader rushed in and also called on Kiyanielie Peseyie , Speaker Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), who represent the 8th Western Angami Assembly Constituency at his official residence on Friday and apprised him about the resignation. Talking to media persons at Speaker’s residence, Victor said he resigned from BJP and was all set to join NPF. Victor lauded DAN government, as “Champions of peace and development” and further praised Kiyanielie Peseyie, Speaker NLA for bringing development in 8th Western Angami Assembly Constituency (AC) . He also said that all the BJP units under 8th Western Angami Assembly Constituency (AC) stand dissolved with immediate effect. In his brief words Kiyanielie Peseyie, Speaker NLA welcomed and appreciated Vikehielie Victor to join the NPF and DAN government under the leadership of state chief minister Neiphiu Rio. He hoped that with Victor and party workers joining NPF would give a bigger boost to NPF party in the 8th Western Angami Assembly Constituency (AC), which is also a strong hold of regional party.
