DC Longleng on land issues

Longleng Deputy Commissioner C. Nihekhu Sema has said that individuals who donated land for the establishment of administrative headquarter under Longleng district will not be called as land owners. Accordingly, land ownership certificate issued to different individuals in the past within the donated land has been declared cancelled/null and void. DC Longleng said according to the decisions taken at the Longleng district planning developmental board meeting on December 10, individuals who had donated land for establishment of administrative headquarters would be called land donors and individual allottees from within the donated land would be called permit holders. The state government shall be the land owner and the district administration (Deputy Commissioner) will be the custodian of the donated land. DC pointed out that unskilled works such as site leveling or any other works which does not require skill hand will be given to land donors and at least one IV grade post should be given to the land donors and in the case of existing officer where land donors has not been given any IV grade post, the heads of department should ensure that the ever first vacancy of IV grade post that arises should be given to the land donors. Further, DC stated whether it is government departments, land donors or private individuals, no developmental activities would be allowed without obtaining written permission from the district administration.
