Against the backdrop of state government putting a ban on “tax counters”, the Petroleum and Land Transport Workers’ Federation of India (PLTWFI) on Thursday informed that interim order of High Court has allowed to collect membership fees as per by-laws. In a letter addressed to state chief secretary, the federation president A.S. Nunsang Ao said that the High Court by the interim order dated 11-12-2009 had modified its earlier interim order dated 10-06-2009 and allowed it to collect registration fee (monthly), membership fee and temporary membership fee as per the by-law of PLTWFI and as per the permission order dated 30-07-2002 issued by deputy commissioner Dimapur. An order appended with the letter, stated that “considering the matter in its entirety and keeping in view the order passed in W.P (C) No.128 (K) (Annexure-L), it is provided that till the returnable date the petitioners association shall be allowed to act in accordance with the order dated 30-07-2002 (Annexure-E).”
