Nagaland Fisheries Technical Association (NFTA) celebrated its 25th anniversary on Friday at Brooder fish farm Dimapur with Parliamentary Secretary for Fisheries, RR and Printing & Stationery, S Heno as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest lauded the efforts of the association and termed the celebration as a moment of great delight and expectation.
Asserting that there could be no development without peace, Heno appealed to all the Nagas to work with the government to bring peace and prosperity in the state. He further stated that the present government was always open to work for the welfare and development of the state.
Earlier, the chief guest also released the jubilee souvenir and felicitated the former officials of NFTA.
Director of Fisheries, Senli Ao who also spoke on the occasion affirmed that the celebration of 25th anniversary was not just a mere ceremony but also to retrospect among themselves.
He urged the gathering to introduce remedial actions within the department with optimistic view and altruistic devotion.
Reminding the officials that they were all public servants, the Director called for setting up an objective for the next 25 years so that to serve the public sagaciously with sincerity and avoid being the laughing stock of the people.
Ex-president of NFTA Imti Longkumer, also spoke on the occasion while Neitho-o Kuotso president of NFTA gave the presidential address.Addl. Director & Convener of Silver Jubilee NFTA C Kapfo, delivered the welcome address while Naga Idol 2008 Toshinaro presented a special number.
