DIMAPUR: Dimapur Motor Workers Trade Union (DMWTU) has condemned the ‘barbaric act of police personnel’ of VIP that took place on December 17 near Zunza, Kohima road where a driver of Tata truck (MN-06T-0391) identified as Manglem Singha of Manipur was allegedly beaten up without any rhyme or reason. Union has appealed the law enforcement authority to abide by rules and regulations and to avoid such kinds of incident in future.

DIMAPUR: Dimapur Merangkong Fellowship has convened a pre-Christmas feast on December 22 at 10am at the Oasis, Nyamo Colony, Khermahal hosted by Dimapur Medemsanger Zünga (DMZ). Convener Dimapur Medemsanger Zünga has requested all Merangkong citizens, in-laws and well wishers to attend the feast.

DIMAPUR: Mao Union Kohima (MUK) has elected its new team of office bearers with H. Lokho as president, L. Athikho as vice president, K. Heshuo Christopher as general secretary, Losü Pfokrehe as finance secretary and M. Kaikho, Adahe Kenneth, Eshuo Krelo and Komuo Besü as joint secretaries respectively. This has been informed in a press note issued by K.A. Loli, general secretary Mao Union Kohima.

DIMAPUR: Central Board of Workers Education (CBWE), Government of India HQ Imphal has conducted two training programme for Trade Union Activities for Dimapur and Peren districts from December 10-12 and December 15-17 at Tourist Lodge Dimapur. Assistant Labour Commissioner Dimapur, Haizing Zeliang as chief guest. In his inaugural address, Zeliang lauded regional directors and staff of Central Board of Workers Education for conducting educational programs for the benefit of Trade Union leaders. Dimapur Motor Workers’ Trade Union president, L. Ghoshito Sumi was guest of honour at the closing function. He expressed appreciation towards Central Board of Workers Education for conducting such programme and further encouraged participants to work for the welfare of the union members.
