Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Dimapur conducted Rabi Crop Campaign Cum Farmers Training on December 18 and 19 at Hoito, Bade and Singrijan Villages.
Altogether 150 farmers alongwith ATMA Officials participated and benefited out of the Rabi Crop Campaign and Training. Project Director (ATMA) – Dimapur Nguzonyi Wetsah highlighted the objectives of the Rabi Crop Campaign and Farmers Training. He said this Rabi Crop Campaign was organized as directed by Government of India to enable farmers to extensively use the strategies identified to cope up the losses due to erratic monsoon’s & improve their Rabi production.
The campaign and training includes boro rice production technology and nursery raising techniques by system of rice intensification (SRI), wheat production technologies, winter maize cultivation technologies, strengthening of storage facility of crop residue as fodder, management of oilseed and vegetable production.
The resource persons were Dr.Anamica Programme Co-ordinator (KVK) Medziphema, Bendanglila APP, Kenny SMS (KVK), H. D. Singh SMS (KVK) and Rokovotsolie AFA. There was Scientist- Farmers interaction hour during the Training where various farmer problems of farming were discussed in detail and many farmers queries were cleared by the Scientist. Demonstration of Bio-compost making and IPM Technology was done.
Meanwhile the farmer participants have expressed gratitude to ATMA Dimapur Team for organizing the Rabi Campaign and Farmers Training which has benefited the farmers’ community in view of the severe drought situation.
