Xelhozhe village on Saturday inaugurated Government Primary School Xelhozhe village with Deputy Inspector of School Dimapur Khetoshe Yepthomi as chief guest.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Khetoshe urged the village council, the Village Education Committee and the Xelhozhe villagers to strive for better coordination and understanding among themselves to develop the school to a higher level.
It might be mentioned, that the school has about 90 students from five villages including Showba, Aoyim, Seithek and co-operative and Xelhozhe.
The school is being run with the help of six teachers including one government teacher, while the rest of the five teachers are volunteers, who do not get pay or acknowledgement either from the government or from the village council. The GPS, Xelhozhe village has been running the school under the aegis of the VEC and the village councils.
Earlier the Village Education Committee Chairman, Huska Zhimo said that the Government Primary School came into reality due to cooperation extended by various organizations and has expressed gratitude to those who had put in hard work in bringing the dream into reality.
Others who spoke on the occasion include Nikhato Shohe, Head GB, Xelhozhe village and Zuvito Achumi, chairman, Xelhozhe village.
Meanwhile the Xelhozhe village Students Union has extended appreciation to the chief guest, Khetoshe Yepthomi for taking his valuable time in inaugurating the GPS Xelhozhe village and also the VEC for making the dream come true for Xelhozhe village.
