A day after the PRO of Nagaland Police L.L Doungel, DIG disclosed that the three 13 IRB personnel including an ABSI were suspended for alleged involvement in a rampage at New Jalpaiguri Railway station on Wednesday, another senior police officer speaking on condition of anonymity on Sunday maintained that the “question of suspension did not arise”. The officer told this Reporter that the report on the incident was yet to be tabled in the police headquarter as the office remained closed down for the Christmas. He said investigation was still on. Further he said so far no suspension order was served to any of the IRB personnel as reported. Meanwhile, family members of the ABSI refuted the report that he was involved in the rampage. Instead, they said the ABSI was one among other senior jawans who helped bring the situation under control at the station. It may be mentioned that the IRB personnel were returning to Nagaland after poll duty in Jharkhand.
