Nagaland In-service Doctor’s Association (NIDA) has proposed to launch series of agitation programmes against government’s failure to concede their many demands, including scrapping of non practicing allowance, restoration of seniority as per the Nagaland health service rule 2006, amendment of service rule 2006 etc. In a press release, the NIDA president Dr. Hotokhu Chishi said all these issues were “non-negotiable”, and directed all district action committees to be prepared to make proposed agitation a success. According to NIDA, scrapping of non practicing allowance (NPA) in the new ROP was in “clear violation” of directives issued by union ministry of finance. It also pointed out that non implementation of specialist allowance was in clear violation of the provisions laid down in Nagaland health service rule 2006. On NRHM director issue, NIDA said it would not accept any “outsider” other than the medical professional of the state cadre to manage the ongoing mission.
