Makhuma Youth Society observes 60th anniversary

The 60th anniversary of Makhuma Youth Society (MYS) was observed at Kigwema on December 28 from Makhuma Ground. Members of Makhuma from all walks of life, well wishers attended the function. Special songs presented by Lhezievi Phükhu and party, Yasale Chale (Tati) and song by Keneilezono Chale (Naga Idol finalist) tug of war by youth and a community feast were the highlights of the programme. MLA Vikho Yhoshü, Advisor IT & C exhorting the gathering lauded the service rendered by Youth Society in its 60 years and wished them success in their endeavor for the betterment of the society. The MLA appealed to the youth to cooperate and also guide and give a helping hand in all round developmental works. Suggesting to promote tourism in the village level, the MLA requested all to preserve flora and fauna and also to set up tourist cottages or paying guest facilities to cater to the need of the visitors in and around the village. A memento was released by MLA in commemoration of the Youth Society day, which was followed by 60 gun shots, indicating its 60th anniversary by the youth of Makhuma Khel. The function was chaired by Ahiele Kiso with invocation prayer by Pastor Teisovi Phukha. Speeches from founding members Siesa Yano & Zhatonyü Kiso, Neivi Neihu G.B. and Visale Chale G.B and elders and well wishers also spoke on the occasion.
