Dubagaon, Eralibill and Ekranipathar Students’ Union (DEESU) held its first annual session on December 29 on the theme “wisdom and discipline” at Sumi Baptist Church, Eralibill.
Inspector, Food and Civil Supplies Kavito Awomi hoisted the union flag and graced the day long programme as chief guest.
The chief guest in his speech said a student who pursue their academic career with ambition in mind could achieve the goal and attain the true knowledge of the world, earning respect and good position in society.
He also pointed out that a student should respect their elders and listen to what they told them because a good student must be always a good listener. He further urged them to inculcate the habit of involving in church activities in order to be a good Christian and also encouraged the parents to have responsibilities towards their children.
Chief guest also donated Rs. 50, 000 towards the union and Rs. 10,000 to mothers’ groups for presenting cultural song.
The function was chaired by Inavi Shohe, union general secretary, Er. Shikaho Zhimo was the speaker, Hukheshe Swu, youth leader, Eralibill Sumi Baptist Church said the invocation prayer, Kikavi Zhimomi, union’s president delivered welcome address while Inoto Shohe proposed vote of thanks and Kihoto Rotokha, pastor, SBC Eralibill pronounced the benediction.
