NMYO showcases kids painting talent

The “NMYO Kids talent competition 2009”, organized by Keep Growing Society (KGS) , New Market Kohima under the aegis of NMYO took place on Thursday at New Market Area Panchayat Hall, Kohima. Inaugurating the Kids talent competition, NMAP General secretary Akro-o Nyusou said, according to information there were more than 30 societies in the New Market Area and sadly some societies existed for name-sake doing nothing beneficial for the society .However, he lauded the Keep Growing Society (KGS) for the commendable yeoman works in the area and also for organizing the Kids talent competition, which would help the young upcoming children to broaden their horizons on all aspects. In his short address NMYO President Kenei Nakhro lauded the Keep Growing Society (KGS) for helping the NMYO in many ways and expressed hope that KGS would continue to do their good works in years ahead. Highlighting the significance of the competition Zeruzo Norbert, treasurer, KGS said the competition was aimed to tap talents and give opportunity to the children to use their talents properly so that they could compete at various levels. He informed that Keep Growing Society (KGS) was established in 1996 and was registered in 2008 with 13 members. Earlier, the programme was chaired by KGS president Kezhaselhou, the invocation prayer was given by Zienuo Nakhro and Kenny Peseyie proposed the vote of thanks. The kids competed in painting, essay writing ,singing, dancing, painting, essay competitions, Bible verse recitation, newspaper reading .The results of the competitions include: Drawing (Category-A) – 1.Khriekuolie, 2. Rokovito Hibo and 3. Kevilesie and Keneisede Nakhro, Drawing (Category-B) - 1. Zakiekhotuo Sekhose, 2.Mesavino and 3. Rokovituo, Essay writing- 1.Rokovituo, 2. Thejakolie Denis Peseyie and 3. Zakiekhotuo Sekhose, while other competitions were on till the report was filed. Meanwhile the prizes to the winners will be distributed on January 3, 2010 at NAMP.
