LeT men taken to Bangalore

The two Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists, arrested in Bangladesh were taken away by Karnataka police today from Meghalaya after obtaining transit remand. Nazir Tarian Dabede alias T Nazir, the LeT chief of south India, and his associate Siraj Samsuddin Shamas were the prime accused in the 2005 attack on the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and serial blast there. Today, the authorities in Shillong district jail handed over the duo to Karnataka Additional Commissioner of Police HM Omkaraiah. Yesterday, the court of the additional district magistrate, Tableland Lyngwa had remanded the duo into one-day judicial custody as there were no cases against the two LeT operatives in Meghalaya. A non-bailable warrant was pending against Nazir and Shamas, who are both from Kerala’s Kannur district, with the Karntaka and Kerala police since long. Nazir, the LeT chief of south India and Shamas were arrested from Dhaka and subsequently handed over to the Border Security Force at Erbamanon village on Wednesday near the Indo-Bangla border in Meghalaya. Later, they were handed over to Meghalaya Police.
