Nagaland governor, Nikhil Kumar on Monday inaugurated a Stone Sculpture Garden at the Northeast Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) complex, reportedly the biggest in the country. The Governor, who is also the NEZCC chairman, inspected the stone works in the garden. Director, NEZCC, Hekali Zhimomi IAS said that the sculptures were chiseled by various artists from all over the country during the stone sculpture workshop which was held earlier this year from March to April. She said, “It was a commitment made by artists to display their work.” She informed that the garden would be open to the public with nominal entry fees. The garden was designed by Hitokali Yepthomi, a final year architect student of Marathwada Institute of Technology, Aurangabad and an alumnus of Holy Cross Higher Secondary School, Dimapur. The Execution Officer of the project was Veswuzo Phesao who was assisted by I M Baruah of NEZCC.
