The Agri farm Panchayat, Kohima has served an expulsion notice to Ngamching Konyak, resident of Agri farm colony, in connection with the triple murder case at Jotsoma on November 28. Ngamching who is the husband of the accused and victim, is currently a body guard attached to an MLA.
A press note issued by Vimedo Angami, chairman Agri farm panchayat ward no. 7 Kohima notified Ngamching to leave Agri farm colony immediately failing which, panchayat stated that it would not be held responsible for any unwanted incident.
Meanwhile, various organisation and unions have condemned the murder of pregnant mother and her one and half year old daughter at Jotsoma. Poumai Naotoumai Me Kohima (PNMK) has condemned the murder of a pregnant mother, Shonglok and her one and half year old daughter, Angep at Jotsoma. A press release by PNMK president, Esther stated that such ‘inhuman and barbaric’ act polluted the peaceful environment and brought name of savage culture to our society. The PNMK further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family members. Meanwhile, Angami Women Organization (AWO) has also condemned the triple murder and termed the crime ‘horrendous and unacceptable’. While appreciating the prompt action of the police on the case, AWO urged the authorities to deliver proper and befitting legal punishment to the culprits Leyan Wanchu, Pungleh Anypham and Wangtok Konyak at the earliest.
TWO: Tenyimi Women Organization (TWO) condemned the murder of Shonglok and her one and half year old daughter, Angep on November 28 near Kohima Science College, Jotsoma. The organization has made a ‘fervent’ appeal to law enforcing agencies to award befitting punishment to the culprits according to the degree of the crime they had committed. TWO further urged upon all women, irrespective of tribes to unitedly fight against such practices in the society.
KSU: Konyak Students’ Union (KSU), Mon has condemned the brutal murder of a pregnant woman Shonglok Konyak and her one and a half year old daughter Angep Konyak near ‘Lover’s Paradise’ in Jotsoma on November28, by three Leyan, Phungleh and Wangtok.
Condemning the “barbaric and beastly act”, KSU stated that such an extreme step could not be justified in any manner and the action of the three culprits was beyond imagination as they took up the “devilish plan” to murder one’s own family members living under one roof. KSU also extended support and expressed satisfaction over the right decision taken up by KUK and KNSK, Kohima Unit to expel and excommunicate the three accused along with their family members from Kohima, KSU also thanked Kohima police for apprehending the culprits, Jotsoma Village Council, NSWC, NMA, KNOW, KNWUK, ENPUK, and other well wishers for their help and support during the incident. Further, KSU also expressed regret and apologized for the gruesome incident that occurred under the Jotsoma’s jurisdiction.
