Women are indispensible for development: TR Zeliang

Minister of Planning & Coordination, T. R. Zeliang, today, said women are indispensible in crucial decision making and urged upon men to make used of women wisdom, skills and talents for the up-liftment of the society. Addressing the gathering at the silver Jubilee celebration of Heninkunglwa Women Society, Minister said that for long time men had been undermining the role and contribution of women in development process and had not given enough opportunity and privilege to them, however, with the change of time, a time had come to used womens wisdom and talents, and involve them in every field of activities and decision making. TR Zeliang also assured that the state government was trying its best to give all rights and privilege to women in every fields and platform. He also urged upon the women to come forward and involve themselves in the development. Unless they come out even if the government give opportunity women would not get sufficient privilege, he said. Reminding that the contribution of women in development of society today was surpassing men, T.R. Zeliang emphasized that the giving important to women participation had become very crucial in the development process. He also reminded the women that Peren district is known for Rice Bowl of Nagaland, but unless proper planning is made for the utilization of this rich resource people will began to beg, he said. TR Zeliang also urged upon the women to start making proper planning and contribute for the development of the people. The silver jubilee celebration of Heninkunglwa Women Society was held at the HWS building and was chair by Atwa Meru and the occasion was marked by special songs, cultural items and feast.
