Two class rooms at Government Middle School Sarbura, Nepali Kashiram donated and built by 69th Engineer Regiment, 3 corps Rangapahar was inaugurated by Brig. Rajesh Tyagi, Chief Engineer, on behalf of Lt. Gen. N K Singh AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding, 3 corps, Rangapahar here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Brig. Rajesh Tyagi lauded the school for setting standard level of education among the government schools across the state. He emphasized on the role of the army in providing basic educational facilities and extending help to the locals.
While urging the student community and the village elders to play positive role in the society, the chief guest said. “One tree can produce one lakh of match sticks; however one match stick can burn down one lakh of trees”.
Brig. Rajesh Tyagi called upon the VEC and the school authorities to work towards the development of the school.
He also assured of the army support for development of the area by providing basic infrastructure facilities which are still lacking in some areas.
K.Jeliangga,head teacher GMS Sarbura, Nepali Kashiram appreciated the army for their role in consructing the class rooms and for helping the locals of the area.
He also thanked Lt. Gen N. K Singh for dedicating the project to the school which would strengthen the friendship between the student community and the army.
Earlier on December 12, the 3 corps, Rangapahar donated 8 computers center, with colour printer to the GMS Sarbura School which was inaugurated by Brig. Rajesh Tyagi, Chief Engineer, 69th Engineer Regiment.
The school authority also expressed gratitude to Lt. Col. P.H Reddy for his initiatives and contribution towards the school. The inaugural programme was attended by other officers from the 3 corps and the village council, elders and the students of the school.
