DKU, KSU, ARSU condemn abduction

Dimapur Kongan Union (DKU) has condemned the abduction and the assassination attempt on the life of Konang Konyak, Angh of Kongan village on January 4. In a press note, union stated that provoking and restricting one’s existence was an act of the uncivilized mind and such action was no lesser than assassinating one’s life and if the right to liberty and peaceful coexistence was disturbed than the person responsible has gone against the constitution of India in which he/she is liable to be judged and be penalized as per the law of the land. Condemning the abduction of Konang Konyak and forcing him with a hoax of forgery by Henyo, son of Wekuh Konyak, Lihwang, son of Yewang, Metlao, son of Yongyo and their accomplice, union termed the as a true violation of human rights and liberty. Union also denounced that such an act cannot be tolerated in this civilized world and further urged all right thinking citizen to come forward to condemn against such deeds and the law enforcing authority to bring justice without delay. Meanwhile, union also lauded the timely intervention of the police from Naginimora for rescuing Konang Angh on the fateful night from Bala Morung of Wakching village. In a separate press note, Kongan Staff Union (KSU) also condemned the abduction of Konang Angh of Kongan on January 4. Union stated that the kidnapping, abduction and attempt on the life of the Angh was not known till investigation established the fact. However, the abductees forced him to sign certain agreement under duress without any reason stating such inhuman nature cannot be tolerated by any civilized society. KSU also appreciated the effort taken by the P.S Nagainimora and also urged them to pursue the investigation further till justice was meted out. Meanwhile, Atoizu Range Students’ Union (ARSU) has also condemned the kidnapping of Himahito Chishi , Former president of SKK from Burma camp on January 9. A note issued by ARSU president Anato Yeptho stated that it was shameful of the perpetrators to claim themselves to be National workers when their action was contradictory. The note conveyed sympathies to the victim and urged the administration to apprehend and award befitting punishment to the culprits.
