DPDB meetings held in Wokha, Longleng and Phek

Wokha Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on January 11 in the conference hall of DC, Wokha. The meeting was chaired by DPDB Chairman & Deputy Speaker, NLA, Ralanthung Yanthan and attended by Minister for Agriculture, Dr. Chumben Murry and Parliamentary Secretary for Prisons, Home Guards, Fire & Emergency Services, W. Kithan. The board reviewed agenda on road widening and constriction of NH 61 within Wokha town for which, SDO (NH 61) Wokha was directed to work out detail and final technical feasibility report while district administration and Wokha Town Council were directed to know the actual demand of the land owners which were hampering the highway expansion plan. The meeting also deliberated on augmentation of power supply within Wokha district. The EE was requested to organise an awareness campaign in the villages where the power transmission line construction were undertaken in order to prevent further loss/damage by empowering the village authority to prevent the occurrence of such crime in their respective jurisdiction. An official bulletin stated that board members after deliberation agreed to send a joint team comprising of officials of education department, Nagaland state transport, medical, power and PHE departments to visit Meriyan village and to submit a report of their inspection in the next meeting. The board also directed land records & survey department, Wokha to prepare a map including the geographical structure, topography of Wokha town for convenience of postal system and other related matters. LONGLENG: Longleng DPDB meeting was held on January 6 in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, under the chairmanship of CK Nikhekhu Sema DC and Vice chairman of DPDB. The hose deliberated on upgradation of CHC Longleng to that of District hospital and selection of a construction site for a new district hospital should be taken up, completing the alignment work of the road from Naga junction to Yingli College before January 15 and creation of assistant registrar of Cooperative societies either at Longleng or Tamlu. The house also discussed the preparations for celebration of Republic day. PHEK: Phek District Planning & Development Board was held in connection with the State Road show -cum- Sükrünyi festival on January 13 in Kuhuba under the Chairmanship of Kuzholuzo Nienu, minister for health & family welfare who is also the Phek DPDB chairman. The chairman requested the heads of departments and offices to participate actively till the State Road Show program was over as the programme was a joint effort and sound co-operation to be translated into action. Parliamentary Secretary for social welfare, child development, Chotisuh Sazo and MLA & adviser, science & technology, art and culture, Deo Nukhu also spoke on the occasion and called upon various departments to give their best effort to make the festival a success.
