Department of information technology at a bi-monthly meeting of administrative heads of departments and heads of departments on January 13 screened visual proposals and plans for providing accountability. The information technology department urged all departments to reserve 2-3 percent of their budget for information technology website of respective departments. The house agreed to encourage all departments to create departmental websites and put up general orders, assembly questions, citizens’ charter and recruitment information etc.
The meeting held at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Conference Hall discussed about preparation for celebration of Republic Day programme to be held at Nagaland Secretariat Plaza.
State Chief Secretary, Lalthara urged departments in charge implementing the annual Plan works to expedite the projects/programmes in time.
The meeting further resolved to organise a mass social work-cum-cleanliness drive on January 16 in Kohima town and Kohima Municipal Council has been entrusted to mobilise all Wards/Colonies to participate in the social work.
Commissioner and Secretary, P&AR, Temjen Toy, IAS briefed the members about the performance and actions of the Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department (P&AR) with regard to redressal of public grievances. Director General of Police, K. Kire, IPS addressed the house and urged the government employees to draw their monthly salary through the banks for safety.
He also dwelt on traffic problems in the capital town and suggested that schools should be established outside the main town so as to relieve the traffic jam in the town. Commissioner & Secretary, Tourism, K. K. Sema; Home Commissioner, Mhathung Kithan and Secretary, Food & Civil Supplies and Information Technology, K.T. Sukhalu also briefed the house. The house also proposed to arrange an exhibition football match in the evening on January 26 between Chief Secretary’s team and Kohima veterans’ football team. Next AHoDs/HoDs meeting has been scheduled on February 15.
