Rejecting charges that it has links with Hynniewtrep Liberation Force (HLF) in Meghalaya, the NSCN (I-M) today said it highly suspected the possibility of HLF as the creation of Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). Stating that “unfounded allegation” against its program to bring unrest in Meghalaya needed to be dispelled, the NSCN (I-M) Naga army PRO “col.” Levi, in an e-mailed statement, said to create any problem or unrest was least in its programme. “That is never the culture of NSCN and shall never in future as well,” the NSCN (I-M) Naga army PRO said, adding that what was happening in Meghalaya was “unfortunate.” The NSCN (I-M) went on and asserted that it fully acknowledged Meghalaya’s capital Shillong as the “most sought educational centre in northeast, and therefore, the necessity of maintaining peaceful atmosphere throughout the year.” The NSCN (I-M) expressed surprise over the appearance of “the so-called” Hynniewtrep Liberation Force (HLF) from “nowhere,” and the alleged link with it. Further, the NSCN (I-M) charged IB and RAW of instigating one “revolutionary group” against another, and creating new groups to be used against another. Pointing out that, in Meghalaya, the HNLC was alive and possessing the potential to make its presence felt to drive home the point of its existence, the NSCN (I-M) said: “the possibility of HLF as the creation of IB and RAW to counter HNLC is highly suspected.” (Full text in P-4)
