Republic Day to be celebrated accross Nagaland

Preparations are on for state level Republic Day celebration to be hed at Secretariat Plaza, Kohima. Various contingents participating in the Republic Day Parade has already started rehearsing from Tuesday at the Secretariat Plaza grounds. Highlights of the morning’s programme would include award of Governor’s Gold Medals and Commendation Certificates, presentation of tableau by various departments, cultural programmes. Exhibition football match between the chief secretary’s team and veteran’s team would also be played in the evening. Meanwhile, DC Kohima Beiu Angami convened a meeting on January 19 to discuss work distribution for Republic Day. The meeting distributed work assignments for various organisations for visitations on January 26. Following are the lists of organisation to be visited by various organisations: Mental Hospital – Lions Club, KRIPA - Royal Club, Kohima Orphanage – Classic Club, Eden Garden – Red Cross, District Branch, Naga Hospital, Kohima – KCCI, TB Hospital, Khuzama – Muslim Community, District Jail – Kerala Club, Bara Khana to Ex-servicemen – 16 AR, UGRL – Nagaland Flower Growers Association, Sweets distribution in the ground – KMC, Leprosy Colony – Gorkha Panchayat. VIPs to unfurl tri-colour Republic Day in Nagaland will be celebrated across 11 districts and 19 sub-divisions. As decided in the cabinet meeting on January 18, VIPs and dignitaries to unfurl the National flag and take Rashtriya salute in various districts and sub- divisions include: Governor in Kohima, PHE minister Dr. Ngangshi K. Ao in Mokokchung; minister for urban development, higher education and irrigation and flood control Dr. Shürhozelie in Dimapur; Minister for roads and bridges G. Kaito Aye in Wokha, Parl secy industries and commerce Dr. K.C Nihoshe in Zunheboto; Home minister Imkong Imchen in Tuensang; Minister for school education and SCERT Nyeiwang Konyak in Mon; minister for health and family welfare Kuzholuzo in Phek; minister for planning and coordination, evaluation, Vety & AH, parliamentary affairs T.R Zeliang in Peren; deputy chairman state planning board Neiba Kronu in Longleng; advisor, development of underdeveloped areas E.E Pangteang in Kiphire, Parl secy geology and mining, irrigation and flood control border affairs, Yanthungo Patton in Tuli; parliamentary secretary social welfare and women development Chotisuh Sazo in Tizit; minister for sol and water conservation land resource P.
