NSU 67th annual session held
DIMAPUR: Naghutomi Students’ Union (NSU) held its 67th annual session from December 28-30 on the theme “Knowledge is Man’s Highest Acquisition”. All Nagaland Hindi Teachers’ Association president, Hezheto Z. Chishi, SBAK Aizuto evangelist, Rev. Yehoto Chishi and GPS Zunheboto graduate teacher, Kahili Khulu were speakers at the programme.
Main highlights of the session included games & sports, literary and cultural competitions. Union also elected a new team of office bearers with Aboka V. Chishi as president, Hinoli H. Chishi as vice president and Aghovi K. Chishi as general secretary. Further, union has expressed gratitude to elders, well wishers and all individuals for their assistance towards the union during the session.
Electoral roll for MTC
DIMAPUR: The ADC & Electoral Registration Officer, Mon Town Council has notified that list of amendments to the draft electoral roll for the constituency of Mon Town Council has been prepared with reference to January 1, 2009 as the qualifying date and in accordance with Nagaland Municipal Act 2001and Nagaland Municipal Election Rules 2003 made there under. A copy of the roll together with the list of amendments has been published and is available for inspection at the office of the ADC, Mon.
Medical board examinations
DIMAPUR: Chief Medical Officer, Kohima Dr L Ralte has informed all heads of departments that the medical board examinations for confirmation of services, invalidation and confirmation of pension etc. for grade –III and IV staff will be held in the office the CMO Kohima (Para- medical colony) under the chairmanship of the Chief Medical Officer on the following dates: February 4, May 6, August 5, and November 4. The medical board will sit on the next day in case of holidays on the mentioned dates; all concerned departments have been requested to send the list of the candidates in advance.
AR seize IMFL on NH 39
DIMAPUR: Mobile vehicle check post of AR recovered 14 cases of IMFL from two vehicles travelling on NH 39. According to a defence release, the apprehended individuals have been handed over to Police Station, Kohima (North).
Itovi village to shift location
DIMAPUR: Itovi villagers have decided to shift the village to a new location alleging that it had not received any funds, subsidies or VDBs fund from the government for many years. Head GB Itovi village Vizheto Sema in a press statement alleged that due to “some selfish person” in the village, the public have not received any funds.
In this connection, the GB has informed all members of the village residing in other parts of the state to reach Itovi village before January 23. Members failing to report would not be enrolled in the village, the statement added.
KOHIMA: Ehunu & Yikhanu Students Union (E&YSU) has thanked Hethinon Mesen for gracing and honuring the 43rd session of E&YSU as chief guest and supporting the union financially. The union prayed that almighty God grant him success in his future ventures.
