North Eastern Region Service Nepali Association (NERSNA) Kohima has condemned the incident in which a Nepali man was stoned to death by unknown miscreants on Sunday night. The dead body was received from the North Police Station Kohima on January 18 by North Eastern Region Service Nepali Association (NERSNA) Kohima and not Gorkha Union.
NERSNA stated that it cremated the dead body on January 18 at 6.30 pm following Hindu rites. “IT is learnt that the deceased has no relatives here and could not locate his permanent address and also he was not a member of any Neplai or Gorkha union organization. The deceased was not known to any people from the Nepali community or to the association” the release stated.
NERSNA appealed to the people of Nepali community that family member or anyone related to the deceased have been informed to contact the association. It also requested every Nepali speaking people staying anywhere or place to register their names in Nepali union or organization to avoid such situation where the person could not be identified by anyone from the community.
