Imports open for Kma

Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has opened the import of essential commodities to Kohima town with immediate effect. KMC executive officer, Zaneituo Yano in a notification said this was being done with a view to control the trade monopoly and the exorbitant rise of prices. Interested traders have been asked to obtain the import permit and collect coupons directly from KMC office for Rs 10 per coupon. It also informed all shops/business establishments/private schools/clinics/pharmacies/cable operators/private financial establishments/private institutions/private tele company like Aircel, Airtel, Reliance, Vodafone etc within its jurisdiction to renew their trade license for the year March 2009-March 2010 on or before January 31, 2010. It has warned the defaulters that their license would be cancelled. The KMC said stern action would be taken against any establishments which operate or are operating without registering at its office. Services also will not be rendered to them, it added.
