Catholic community of Pyangsa village under Sanis sub-division of Wokha district celebrated its 25th anniversary on January 20 where state home commissioner, Mhathung Kithan, IAS graced the celebration as special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Mhathung Kithan congratulated the Catholic community of Pyangsa village for nurturing themselves as Catholic Church community for the past 25 years till date even though few in number. Kithan also said that according to his thinking the duty of Christians, irrespective of denomination, was to love and help one another and therefore encouraged the people to maintain oneness in all respect.
Rev. Father Neisalhou Carlos Kuotsu, vicar general, Diocese of Kohima who inaugurated and blessed the programme was also the main speaker of the celebration. Rev. Father Mhabemo Matthew, St. Peter Church Sanis Parish, Centre-in-charge as the main patron of the Jubilee programme delivered the welcome address of the jubilee session Rev. Father Mhonchumo Philip MSFS, Parish Priest, Bhandari, Orenthung Lotha SDO (C) Finance, Mhatghung Tsanglao EAC Lotsü Circle also attended the Jubilee celebration. Father Philip Mhonchumo Ovung, the first Ordained Priest from Pyangsa village Catholic Community proposed the vote of thanks.
