Republic Day celebration in Dimapur will be graced by minister of urban development & higher education Dr. Shurhozelie. Highlights of the programme are march pass display by 10 contingents of both uniform and non-uniform personnel led by Dy SP (R) Israel G. Xuivi as parade commander, exhibition of ten stalls put-up by various department, cultural programme by six tribes, Taekwondo demonstration by Faith in Action, Small Arms display by 24th Assam Rifles, exhibition football match between IGP XI and Dimapur Youth Club. Free cinema show and feeding & distribution of sweets and other items from various NGOs at different Hospital and charity home will mark the celebration.
Mokokchung: Headed by the district administration, Mokokchung Town is preparing to celebrate Republic Day at Imkongmeren Sports Complex. Minister for PHED, Nagaland, Dr. Ngangshi K. Ao will be the chief guest. Cultural dances will be presented by 6 groups from different villages and organizations and an exhibition Football Match will be played between Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) and Veteran XI in the evening. The Chief Guest will also inaugurate the exhibition stalls while the pipe Band 9 Assam Rifles will perform the Retreat.
Pfutsero sub-division: All head of offices, institutions and NGOs under Pfutsero sub-division held a meeting under the chairmanship of ADC Pfutsero Kewekha Mero in his office chamber on January 22. In the meeting the members discussed about the programme with regards to the Republic Day celebration at Pfutsero and entrusted work distribution to the members. The Chairman also informed the meeting that Speaker Nagaland Legislative Assembly Kiyaneilie will grace the Republic Day celebration, Pfutsero as the chief guest.
Medzephima Sub-Division: Medzephima sub-division administration organized a mass social work at its headquarter on January 22. The programme was conducted in order to keep the town clean and tidy and also in view of the forth coming Republic Day celebration. A large number of people turned-up for the mass drive which was led by ADC S. Doungel and participated by all government servants under Medziphema sub-division and Medzephima Town councilors.
ADC has requested all business establishment and shops to remain closed till the function was over on the occasion.
