A two-day orientation programme for Holy Cross higher secondary school teachers was conducted at Holy Cross School with Benjung Yaden, Roseline Richa and Sr. Biya (MMS) as resource persons.
The resource persons dealt with issues and topics such as psychological and behavioral patterns of students and teachers, learning process, teaching skills, role of teacher, teacher and student relationship, and classroom management.
In their input sessions they emphasized the importance of students’ psychological aspects and the teachers’ respond to their behavioral patterns. Dealing on the area of methodology and teaching techniques the teachers were instructed to demonstrate six teaching skills which were pertinent and significant tools of imparting knowledge.
While elucidating on teacher and student relationship, they highlighted the role that teachers played in the all round development and education of students. It was also said that classroom management was very important if learning was to be enjoyable and efficacious for the students.
