RIM rolls out BlackBerry Bold 9700 @ Rs 31,990

Canadian wireless device company Research in Motion (RIM) has rolled out its latest smartphone, named Blackberry Bold 9700 in the Indian market. Targeting premium end customers and executive pros, the sleek and stylish phone has dimensions of about 109 mm x 60 mm x 14.1 mm and weighs about 122 grams. The QWERTY keypad 3G ready touch handset comes packed with 3G connectivity, high end processor, 3.2 mega pixel camera and 256 MB internal memory that can be expanded upto 16 GB. To attract large set of audiences, Blackberry Bold 9700 has features integrated with the aim to simplify accessing famous social networking sites and instant messengers. Frenny Bawa, Vice President, India, Research In Motion stated, “Building on the success of the original BlackBerry Bold, we are now pleased to introduce the new BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone to customers in India”. Other exciting features of the phone include 2.44” light-sensing display, Wi-Fi connection, GPS and photo geotagging features. It also backs up VAS features including BlackBerry Media Sync for easy synchronization of pics, iTunes and Windows Media player. The phone also features Bluetooth connectivity and backs BlackBerry Internet Service and BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Additionally, the rechargeable 1500 mAhr battery helps to run the phone continuously for 6 hours and 17 days on standby time. The newly launched phone smartphone, which is a priced at Rs 31,990, will be available in the unlocked version via its Indian distributor partner Redington plus in association with mobile service providers including Loop Mobile, BSNL, Idea Cellular, MTNL, Airtel, Tata and Vodafone from today.
