Reiterating the need to further consolidate the efforts of forging unity among Nagas, Nagaland home minister Imkong L. Imchen Friday said unity among Nagas still remained elusive.
Imchen said that despite long talk of unity, it was far from achieving the real unity. To achieve this, the minister said Nagas should display the spirit of accommodation, a DIPR report quoted him as saying during the 56th Ongpangkong Range General Conference in Mokokchung village.
Recalling the great division of Naga underground set up in 1980, Imkong regretted that it has further vitiated the task of fulfilling the dreams of the Nagas.
The state home minister called upon the people of Onpangkong range to take the lead in the endeavour to remove division and forge real unity among Nagas. On the first day the main speaker Akok Walling dwelt on the topic ‘Socio-political awakening’.
Short speeches were delivered by state minister for PHED Dr. Ngangshi K. Ao; Mokokchung DRDA project director Imotemjen and soil and water conservation joint director Limameren.
