Businessman abducted in Dimapur

A representative of Nagaland Medicine Dealer Association, Dimapur was taken away by some unidentified persons at 4th mile, while returning to Dimapur at around 5.00 pm on Friday, police said. According to SP Dimapur Liremo Lotha, the missing representative of the NMDA, Dimapur, identified as Rinju had gone to Chumukedima to collect annual membership fees from some pharmacies. Rinju had stopped at M/s Meira Pharmacy at 4th Mile when some unidentified men accosted and took him away to an unknown place. On being informed by the NMDA at around 5.30 pm, SP Dimapur Liremo said a police team was rushed to the spot and search operation conducted to locate and rescue the kidnapped victim. So far, there has been no breakthrough in the case and neither was any suspect taken to custody till the time of filing this report. NMDA: Meanwhile, the Nagaland Medicine Dealers’ Association (NMDA) has threatened to go on an indefinite closure of all chemist shops in Dimapur as part of its first phase agitation if one of its members who was abducted on Friday by unknown miscreants, was not traced by Saturday. NMDA president, Ato Yepthomi said the decision was taken during an emergency meeting held Friday. In the second phase agitation, the NMDA president said chemist shops all over the state would be closed indefinitely. (Staff Reporter)
