The chief engineer, PHED, has declared the results of a state level essay competition on the topic “sanitation is the foundation for health, dignity and development”.
In the competition, V. Avikali Chophy, class X, Government High School, Purana Bazaar Dimapur was adjudged as the winner, Steve Tsupoi, Class XII, Eden Higher Secondary School Dimapur in the second position and Victoria Grace Roughton. Class XI, Delhi Public School Dimapur in the third position. The ten consolation prize winners are: Tusovenu Ringa, class XII, Kohima College Kohima; Lichanthung Ngully, Class XII, Government Higher Secondary School, Kohima; Horeising Zimik, Class X, Eastern Academy Dimapur; Chumlamo Ennio, Class XI, Eden Higher Secondary School Dimapur; Ningshi Chithung, Class XII, Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Kohima; Rajat Raj Jha, Class X, Ministers’ Hill Higher Secondary School Kohima; Ningsang, Class XII, Baptist High Kohima; Lambila Ngangom, class XII, Christian Higher Secondary School Dimapur; Aseno Terhuja, class IX, Khedi Baptist School Kohima; Viphrenuo Kiso, Class IX, Model Higher Secondary School Kohima.
The three winners will be awarded cash prize of Rs. 10,000, Rs.5,000 and Rs.3000 respectively, while the consolation winners will get Rs. 1000 each, to be sponsored by Communication and Capacity Development Unit (CCDU) of PHED. The department has informed that a prize distribution ceremony will be held in February 2010, for which date and venue of the function will be published in local dailies.
