Arunachal’s edu scenario to get facelift says Sibal

: With an aim to improve the dismal education scenario in Arunachal Pradesh, a high level central team from the Union HRD Ministry would soon visit the state, reports UNI. HRD Minister Kapil Sibal, during a meeting with Governor Gen (Retd) JJ Singh, assured to send the team when the latter sought his personal intervention in upgrading and enhancing primary, secondary and higher education in this frontier state, official sources said here today. The team is likely to study the prevailing education scenario in the state and submit the report to the minister to assist him take appropriate steps towards uplifting the entire education system. While apprising Mr Sibal of the state’s education scenario, Gen Singh, who during his tours to New Delhi used to convey concerns for development of the state and its people to the central leaders, pleaded the HRD Minister for sending ‘good quality’ teachers to conduct educational camps and to impart training to the state’s teachers. ‘’For the benefit of every Arunachalee, we have to augment the complete education system in the state in order to improve the human resources capability to meet the challenges posed by the major developmental projects coming up in the state. Moreover, it will also improve the employability of the denizens for jobs created by the projects,’’ the governor added. He also invited the minister to pay visit to the state. The Governor, who is likely to chair the annual conference of state Higher and Technical Education Department here very soon, is making all out efforts to ensure that his participation in the proposed conference is meaningful and to give impetus in improving the education system, sources added.
