A one-day ‘Fish farmers’ training’ was organized by Humane Touch at Tsuremmen village on January 28 under the theme “Pisciculture: a means of economic development”.
The event was facilitated by Rongsenungba, assistant director who spoke on “Introduction on fish farming”, Amenla SDFO presented on “Prospects of prawn farming” and Rongsenkumzuk, inspector presented on the topic “Fish farming and pond management”.
A practical demonstration on fish pond management was provided to all the participants.
Earlier in his key note address, Atong Longkumer, member, Humane Touch, explained the reason and scope for organizing the fish farmers’ training and gave an introduction of members and activities, Humane Touch.
Speaking on the occasion, N. Nungsang Longkumer, chairman, Tsuremen Village Council acknowledged the organizer, sponsor and the resource persons from Fisheries department for their voluntary noble deed.
IFS, DFO, Mokokchung, T. Sosang Longchar urged the participants to learn from the training and set an example to others and also applauded Humane Touch society as and elite group for the society.
The training programme was chaired by Meren Imchen and vote of thanks was proposed by Saku Longkumer, chairman, Humane Touch.
Further, the society acknowledged the T. Sosang Longchar, IFS, DFO Mokokchung for sponsoring the programme and also the resource persons and director, department of fisheries for initiating the programme.
