Expressing “unhappiness” over the killing of an FGN activist on January 2 by the NSCN (I-M), the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR)has reminded the various Naga political groups of their commitment to “cease all forms of offensive activities in toto” and called for a peaceful 2010. The Forum for Naga Reconciliation said the incident was a “disheartening” news to the Nagas who have committed to reconciliation. The FNR in a statement said that it stood by the credo that whoever believed in reconciliation stand with those who suffer the “pain of violence, division and the conflict in this broken world so that together it may be overcome.” It said the Nagas could no longer put up with the circumstances in the divided and excluded world since they have become different. Stating that the world of the Nagas must never remain as it was, the FNR said the Nagas were open for its freedom and unity as they we have taken the journey of common hope of reconciliation. “We hope for the transformation of the present world of the Nagas because we believe in the reconciliation of God and fellow Nagas,” the Forum for Naga Reconciliation statement added.
