DIMAPUR: Seminar on ‘Features of Sumi Naga Oral Literature’ scheduled to be held on January 8 and 9 at Indigenous Cultural Society (ICS), City Tower Dimapur has been postponed to February 12 and 13. A press release issued by ICS director, Dr. Hesheto Y. Chishi stated that the seminar was deferred due to unavoidable circumstances and further expressed regret over the inconvenience caused.
DIMAPUR: Nagaland Judicial Officers Association (NJOA) has informed that a farewell meeting in honour of L.K. Achumi has been convened on January 8, 11am at the office complex of District and Session Judge, Dimapur. All judicial officers Nagaland, persecutors Dimapur Bar members have been requested to attend the function.
KSU general session
DIMAPUR: Koio Students’ Union (KSU) held its 46th General Session from December 29 and 30 on the theme ‘Students and its Environment’ at Koio village local ground. A new team of KSU office bearers were elected during the session with Chonben Kikon as president, Longshithung Kikon as vice president and B. Chandeno Ezung as general secretary for the tenure 2010-13.
WVSU annual session held
DIMAPUR: Wokha Village Students’ Union (WVSU) held its 60th Annual Session cum Literary Day from December 28-29 with Land Resources inspector, Lichumo Murry as chief guest. The union meanwhile has expressed gratitude to minister for Agriculture, Dr. Chumben Murry, Wokha Village Council, individual donors and various departments in Wokha town for their contribution towards the union. WVSU has also lauded all participants of the Literary Day and general public for their cooperation and support in making the programme successful.
KPSU general conference
DIMAPUR: Kacharigaon Phevima Students Union (KPSU) has convened its 9th general conference on January 9 at the village panchayat hal with Editor, Nagaland Post, Geoffrey Yaden as chief guest and village council chairman Vitha Zao as the speaker for the cultural session. The union has informed all its members to attend the programme.

KOHIMA: Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) for all children from 0-5 years will be held on January 10 and February 7. The Kohima CMO, Dr. L. Ralte has informed all parents, community leaders, women representatives, youth representatives, church leaders of all villages and colonies under Kohima district to mobilize children to avail polio vaccine at the nearest Polio booth.
