Four people were killed, including an Assam government official and five others injured in two separate road accidents in Meghalaya’s coal-rich district of Jaintia Hills, police said today. In an accident that took place late last night at Tongseng village, Subash Koiri, the Block Development Officer of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council along with his Gaurav Koiri and driver Md Ajimuddin were killed when a car in which they were travelling plunged into a deep gorge. However, Ajimuddin’s son Tinku Ahmed survived in the accident. Yet in another road accident, a driver of a Silchar-bound bus died, while four others were injured yesterday afternoon at Dkiah West in Jaintia Hills.
