LSU literary programme KOHIMA: A literary programme of the Leshemi Students’ Union (LSU) will be held on January 12, 10:30 am at Leshemi Village Community Hall. All students have been asked to attend the programme compulsorily. Leaders of different organizations, elders, senior students and well wishers have been invited to the programme. Rio to grace ZSU jubilee KOHIMA: Zhavame Students Union (ZSU) will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee on January 21coinciding with the 63rd General Conference of the Chakhesang Students Union. Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio will grace the occasion as Chief Guest. Dimapur Gorkha Union meet DIMAPUR: Dimapur Gorkha Union (DGU) has convened a meeting on January 10, 10am at the residence of Loknath Lopchan, GB Puraba Bazar, Dimapur. The union has requested all the interested Gorkhas to attend the meeting. Kachari youth festival DIMAPUR: Kachari Tribal Council Nagaland (KTCN) would organize Kachari Youth Festival 2010 on the theme ‘Excel for Glory’ from January 16-18 at Dimapur Town Hall. KTCN has informed that the festival would highlight seminar on Human Resource, village-wise competition in traditional dance, folk songs, debate, quiz, extempore speech, contests for Miss Kachari and Mr. Kachari, stand-up comedy, beat contest etc. All Kachari VCCs, GBs, elders and general public have been requested to extend their cooperation towards the festival. JTU meet cum picnic DIMAPUR: Jotsoma Taxi Union (JTU) has organized its annual meeting cum picnic on January 9, 10 am at Ratsazhü Jotsoma. All members have been requested to attend the programme. It also informed its members that no taxi would be allowed to ply after 10 am and election of office bearers for the tenure 2010-2012 would be held. KEES food festival DIMAPUR: Kyong Ekhae Ekhung Shillong (KEES) has organized a food festival on January 9, 11 am at town hall Wokha. All KEES members and well-wishers have been invited to attend the event. ADC Chozuba informs DIMAPUR: In view of the urgent need to complete the ongoing construction between Chozuba-Thavopisu- Phek road for the state road at Phek to be held on Janaury 14 and 15, ADC Chozuba, Temsu Naro has informed that all vehicles bound for Phek district headquarters shall be diverted vie Metsali-Khusa road from Runguzu junction with immediate effect till Janaury 10. DPDB Zunheboto, Wokha meet DIMAPUR: The monthly Zunheboto District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting scheduled to be held on January 8 has been postponed to January 12 at 11am at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner’s office, Zunheboto. Kughato, DC and vice chairman DPDB Zunheboto has requested all the members to note the change of date and to attend the meeting. Meanwhile, the monthly DPDB meeting for Wokha District would be held on January 11, 11 am at DC’s conference Hall. All the DPDB members of Wokha have been informed to attend the meeting. LKM general conference DIMAPUR: The Langpangkong Students’ Conference (LKM) under Mokokchung district will be organizing its 29th general conference-cum-tournament at Mongsenyimti village from January 12 to 15 on the theme ‘Take the Lead.’ Pangnyu Phom, parliamentary secretary, rural development & REPA will be the chief guest and T. Sentichuba, MLA, Nuklutoshi MLA and L. Temjen Jamir, MLA will be the guests of honur during the conference as well as tournament. Amen Yaden IFS and Rev. Kilang Jamir will be the main speaker in the conference.
