Kyong Students’ Union declares 2010 as ‘Year of jubilee’

Kyong Students’ Union (KSU) celebrated platinum jubilee year launching cum memorial stone erection ceremony on January 4 and 5 at Okotso village (KSU inception village) and had declared 2010 as ‘Year of jubilee’ under the theme “Building a just Society”. the celebration witnessed the participation of all federating units of KSU, Jubilee committee members as well as former executives of KSU. The programmee witnessed mass church service on January 4 patronized by presence of Rev. Dr.Nrio Ezung, executive secretary KBES, Rev. Dr.L.L Kikon, mission and evangelism KBES , Rev.O.Y.Ngullie Pastor, Okotso Baptist Church, Rev. Rhyutsemo Lotha, pastor, Tsungiki Baptist Church, Rev. Z.K.Yanthan, pastor, Sungro Baptist Church, Rev. Zuchamo Shitri, pastor, Okotso, AG Church, Rev. Achumo Kithan, Asst. pastor, WTBC, Tsmongo Shitri, Aremo Ezung, ex-president (1980), Orenvungo Humtsoe ex-president (1983), KSU Executive and unnamed many former office bearers. The ceremony witnessed special choral presentation by Okotso Students Union, Pangti Village Students Union, and Okotso Village Council. The ceremony culminated with the unveiling of foundation memorial monolith by Yanarao Ngullie, ex-president KSU (1946), and sharing of significance of the monolith erection by N.S.N Lotha jubilee over all co-coordinator followed by jubilee feast. The jubilee committees further thanked the Okotso populace for giving maximum hospitability to all the delegates and officials, and also thanked L.M. Merry, Dy. Regstrar, Nagaland University and family for sponsoring the monolith.
