The 9th general conference of Aghunaqa Area Students’ Union (AASU) held at Vikheto village under the theme “forward with unity” concluded on January 6.
Gracing the valedictory session, S. Vihuto Yeptho, member, Dimapur Municipal Council member exhorted the students and said there was no easy way or short cut to anything but one has to work hard with sincerity and humbleness to triumph in life.
He encouraged the students to pursue their education with seriousness and equip themselves to face the challenges of the competitive world and also to introspect and correct each other and choose righteous path of life as future belong to them.
Further, Vihuto also donated Rs. 10,000 to the union, Rs. 5,000 to the host village and Rs. 2,000 each to Khehuto Students’ Union and Mughavi Students’ Union for presenting songs at the closing function.
On January 5, Luhevi Achumi, district session judge graced the inaugural session as chief guest who also donated Rs. 10,000 towards ASSU while Arvind Kumar Commandant 155 Bn. CRPF was the guest of honor. He also donated all the sports equipment used during the conference. Apeto Assumi, president, Western Sumi Kukami Hoho and Hejeto Chishi, member, DMC also exhorted the students. Kevuto Sumi, additional director, education and Kitoli Naje, DIS, Niuland were the speakers of the conference.
More than 500 students from 22 villages attended the conference.
