The 1st RTI awareness seminar was held in Tizit under Mon district organized by the Tizit Area Students’ Union (TASU) on January 6 at the Town Hall.
The seminar was organized as part of the 31st general session of the TASU with Rev. Dr. Pongsing, state information commissioner as resource person and ADC Tizit, YY Sangtam as guest of honour. Rev. Dr. Pongsing asserted RTI as one of the milestone amendment bills passed by the centre for transparency, honesty and accountability. He also viewed that Nagaland being a Christian state “no RTI is necessitated” in a real common sense and the stated the state had improved very much over the past three years.
In the programme, TASU president delivered the welcome address while Pangteih Konyak chaired the programe. The seminar was attended by the Village Council members, Village Education Committee and student unions of 25 villages under Tizit division.
