Zululemla from Nursing School, Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) bagged the prestigious 8th late Mrs. Ketsovole Kire Award 2010 as the best nursing student.
She was awarded citation and cash of Rs.7000 by K. Kire, IPS, DGP, Nagaland Police at the General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) Graduation -cum- 8th late Mrs. Ketsovole Kire Award ceremony 2010 on Tuesday at Auditorium Naga Hospital Kohima (NHK).
It may be mentioned that the conferring the award to nurses in recognition of their meritorious achievement started in 2002.
27 students successful completed their 3years- GNM course from two School of Nursing from the state – NHAK and Imkongliba Memorial Hospital Mokokchung stated in her address V. Kechu, Principal, School of Nursing, NHAK and informed that Zululemla awarded the Late Mrs. Ketsovole Kire Award 2010 for securing the highest score in the GNM final examinations.
Speaking on behalf of family members of Lt. Mrs. Ketsovole Kire, Dr. Nicky Kire, MLA and chairman NVKIB congratulated the students and expressed hope that they would be able to serve the society by giving their best services to the people.
Dr Nicky Kire also said the award had been initiated so that nursed could have a healthy competition among themselves and next year the cash award would be enhanced from Rs. 7000 to Rs. 8000.
Exhorting the gathering Dr. K. Assumi, Additional director H & FW urged the nurses to work hard and to be sincere. Vikhono Yanthan, joint director nursing distributed the capping –cum- award to the students. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Khevili Shohe, Nursing Tutor NHAK, invocation prayer was given by Pelhoutsü , chaplain, NHAK, special song by 1st year students GNM and the speech from outgoing was given by Zululemla, followed by mass benediction.
