Handloom exhibition opens in Tuensang

Special handloom expo in Tuensang was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Y.L. Jami on Tuesday at parade ground Tuensang. Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Y. L. Jami said exhibitions and expos in Nagaland developed the productivity of various quarters of Nagaland and was the humble beginning for Nagas and urged the participants to continue with positive response for the profitable of the society. Y.L. Jami called upon the people to create a congenial peaceful atmosphere in every sphere of activities in order to bring a lucrative development in the various sections of society. After the programme the chief guest Y.L. Jami, along with the department officials and special invitees inspected the special handloom expo where he lauded the various SHG and societies for their talented workman ship and asked to uphold the dignity of work method for the upliftment of the society. Earlier, the inaugural function was chaired by I. Bendangliba, DIC Tuensang, while Rev. Akhum Pastor Yimchunger Baptist Church Tuensang, invoked God blessing and vote of thanks was proposed by Akaba Sangtam, Functional Manager. The special handloom expo which was supposed to be held last year was is funded by development commissioner Handloom Ministry of Textile Government of India New Delhi, and initiated by department of industrial & Commerce government of Nagaland. 28 Self Help Group and various organizations are participating at the Special Handloom Expo. The participating teams include, M/S Thangjam SHG Tuensang, M/S Hakchang Handloom, M/S Phouchi SHG Tuensang, M/S Atroda SHG Tuensang, M/S Alongdi SHG Longkhim, Akehta SHG Tuensang, M/S Aruh Ako SHG Tuensang, M/S Mushaiking SHG Noklak, M/S Samen SHG Tuensang, M/S Knitting & Weaving unit Noklak, M/S Vanda SHG Tuensang, M/S Preset SHG Tuensang, M/S Amujan SHG Tuensang, M/S Chipen SHG Noklak, M/S Ten Sister SHG Tuensang, M/S Changsao Thangjam Sethsang Tuensang, M/S Saramati Wung Beru SHG Tuensang, Nokyan SHG, M/S Phomla SHG Tuensang, Skils SHG, M/S Eastern handicraft Noklak, M/S S.S.K Bamboo & cane craft Tuensang, M/S Longdon handicraft Noklak, M/S Pesha handicraft Tuensang, M/S Arts &handicraft Noklak, M/S Mongchom handicraft Tuensang, M/S Multipurpose handicraft Noklak and M/S Cane& bamboo craft society Tuensang. The handloom exhibition will go on depending on the sale.
